The reality is that we need this raffle to finish and run Bob’s House

We would like to take a minute and explain our need for raffle ticket sellers.

Our initial plan was to hold a six month 2009 calendar raffle with a drawing every day from July – December.

We had to cancel that idea because we were delayed in getting our non-profit status through the IRS. This status allows us, amongst other things, to obtain our raffle permit through the State of Wisconsin.

We simply would not have enough time, especially considering the permit processing time, to sell enough tickets in time for a July 2009 start.

We are instead going to hold a 2010 calendar raffle with drawings every day starting January 1st – June 30th.

Now comes the key!!

When we apply for our permit with the state we need to give them the exact length of the raffle (six months) and the specific amount to be awarded each day to winners. Obviously, this means we need to have an idea of how many tickets we can sell ahead of time. The more accurate the estimate of ticket sales, the more we can give out in prizes, and obviously the more we can make for Bob’s House. We don’t want to over or under estimate at the time of our raffle application.

The early commitment of sellers will take away a lot of our risk and will allow us to make a wiser decision at the time of permit application.
